3CX will start blocking the old app from January 2026 due to security risks.
If your organisation is still using the legacy Electron-based 3CX desktop app, now is the time to migrate.
The desktop app has officially been deprecated for some time, and 3CX will block connections from this app by mid-end January 2026 as it is no longer secure.
Administrators should ensure they migrate all users onto the 3CX Windows Softphone Client. The app can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store
For instructions on how to install and provision the 3CX Windows Softphone app, please refer to the 3CX user manual on their website
